Shy 5 and Birding package (3 days)
Meet the Karoo shy five - Aardwolf, Aardvark, Black-Footed Cat, Porcupine and Bat-eared Fox.
Itinerary
Day 1
15h00: Arrival, welcome, and settle into your rooms.
17h00: Sunset drive in our open safari vehicle to see the hippos and buffalo and enjoy the first course of our three-course dinner during a sundowner break.
19h30: Return to New Holme lodge for dinner.
20h30: Shy-Five-night drive to meet some or all the Shy Five-night nocturnal species – Aardwolf, Aardvark, Black-Footed Cat, Porcupine and Bat-eared Fox.
Day 2
06h00: Enjoy coffee, rusks, and a morning birding drive, with snacks in the veld.
10h00: Return for breakfast at New Holme
16h30: Experience our birding- and game drive, followed by a veld braai. (a BBQ in the bush)
20h30: We return to the lodge after dark, using a spotlight on a night drive, and end the evening with a delicious Karoo farm pudding at the lodge.
Day 3
06h00: Enjoy coffee and rusks before we set off on a 10km drive followed by a 1 km walk to the Khoi etching site. Snacks are included.
10h00: Breakfast at the lodge.
16h30: A game and birding drive is followed by sundowners and the first course of our evening meal on a hilltop watching the Karoo sundown.
19h30: Dinner at the lodge.
20h30: Enjoy a two-and-a-half-hour drive covering at least 20km searching for the Shy Five.
Day 4
07h30: Breakfast
Check-out of your rooms, settle your extras bill, and Departure.
Rates
3 night/4 day - Shy-5 selling rate at R5900 per person sharing. We offer STO rates to agents.
First three (3) single rooms will pay the sharing rate. From the fourth single room to add 20% single supplement
Inclusive of: Accommodation, Breakfast, Dinner and selected activities
This package caters for a minimum of eight (6) and a maximum of ten (10) people per group.
If an individual puts a group of minimum 8 persons together, he/she is given free accommodation and activities but still to pay for meals.
